Welcome to CCHP
Welcome to the Life Universities Center for Compassion and Human Potential. At CCHP we research and provide training to both students and the general public onthe following:
How human beings can be their best selves through mindfulness and compassionate practices.
We are keen on understanding how compassion can create a more kind and just world.
How mindfulness and self-compassion can be best utilized to decrease the stress response in athletes, in prisons, the workplace, and the general public.
At CCHP we teach you to mitigate the stress response. Stress locks up your brain. We teach you tools and techniques based on brain science to assist you in unlocking your full potential.
MBSR was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and first taught in the University of Massachusetts Stress Management Clinic in 1979. The benefits for patients quickly became apparent, and led to several formal research studies. These studies confirmed that participants’ stress levels decreased and wellbeing increased, and Jon with help from Saki Santorelli began offering courses to teach others how to teach MBSR.
